CERNOBBIO, Italy Sept 4 (Reuters) - Telecom Italia does not believe the idea of combining its fixed network assets with those of state-backed rival Open Fiber has been shelved, even though a plan ironed out last year has not yet materialised, its CEO said on Saturday.

"I don't believe anything has been shelved," Luigi Gubitosi told reporters on the sidelines of an annual business conference in Cernobbio, on Lake Como. (Reporting by Francesca Landini and Elvira Pollina Editing by Mark Potter)
