Global leader and two-time world cup champion pushes boundaries to excel

Indonesia's Aries Susanti Rahayu, winner of four gold medals at the IFSC Climbing World Cup and seven medals overall, became a champion as the result of many years of hard work and dedication to being the best she can be.

Rahayu, nicknamed "Spider Woman," is the world record holder for women in speed climbing, becoming the first woman to climb the 15-meter wall in less than seven seconds. As a youngster in Indonesia, she learned to climb on trees near her home and nearby parks. In junior high school, a teacher introduced her to speed climbing, and she's been focused on becoming a champion ever since.
