TEO LT : New Telia Lietuva Mobile Connection Plans – Europe Included

On this special day which is important to all travelling Europeans Telia Lietuva introduces new mobile connection service plans. The existing or prospective Telia clients in Lithuania will now get up to four times more mobile data, and part of the time and data set in the plan will be allowed to be used while travelling in the European Union (EU) for no additional charge. One more novelty - some of the plans will have a travel insurance included. Clients that do not limit themselves will have unlimited access to the use of data in Lithuania.

'Today marks the start of new phase in the European telecommunication market - it will no longer matter where we will make phone calls or surf the Internet - in Poland or Portugal - because these services will be much cheaper. Meanwhile, Telia clients in the Baltic and Nordic countries have felt like at home since the beginning of the last year. The new Telia Lietuva plans are about meeting the needs of the modern day people even better,' Norbertas Žioba, Head of B2C of Telia Lietuva, said.

Clients who already have certain mobile connection plans will not encounter any changes - their contracts will continue in effect, and those who want to amend them or order new plans, will be able to do that in the nearest Telia Lietuva retail outlet. When travelling in the EU countries, users of plans that were signed before the changes will pay for the data or minutes used just like before, i.e. according to the charges set by the Communications Regulatory Authority - their phone calls will now be 3 times cheaper, and they will surf the internet 11 times cheaper than before.

The amount of mobile data offered to clients in most of new packages has increased from 25 to 400 per cent. For instance, those who choose package S will now get 200 MB instead of 50 MB per month, those who choose package L will get 6 GB instead of 4 GB, users of package XL will have 10 GB instead of 8 GB, and those having chosen package XXL will get 20 GB instead of 16 GB. Although the price of data packages, subject to their size, has increased from EUR 0.9 to EUR 1.95, the price of mobile data for 1 GB has fallen by up to 23 per cent.

Clients who choose special plan Unlimited in Lithuania will not be subject to any limitations and will be allowed to use an unlimited amount of mobile data on a monthly basis. They will also get 5 GB for data which they will be able to use every month when travelling in the EU and Scandinavian countries.

From now on, packages of additional services will more often include mobile signature (starting from package M) or service Interneto.tv which enables users to watch Telia Lietuva television online (starting from package L). One more novelty - travel insurance. This service will be available to every Telia Lietuva client who chooses data plan L or bigger. This insurance service will automatically apply immediately after a client goes abroad; insurance travel benefits will apply to all family members.

Just like before, mobile data, phone calls and SMS to Telia clients (except for those who choose package Unlimited) in Lithuania will also be valid in the Baltic and Nordic countries: Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

The new system of the Telia Lietuva mobile connection plans will not change either: clients will be able to select one of the base plans - Economy and Premium - which specify the provided amount of phone call minutes and the number of SMS. Their price remains the same and they cost EUR 3 and EUR 7 per month accordingly. In addition, subject to their needs, clients will be able to decide whether to add a mobile data or additional service package choosing from S, M, L, XL and XXL packages.
