TEO LT : Telia Lietuva and CyberGym Establish a Cyber Training Area in Vilnius

Soon, a special remote cyber security training centre, the first such centre in Northern Europe, will open in Vilnius. This is done according to the cooperation agreement that was signed today by Telia Lietuva and CyberGym, an Israeli cyber defence solutions company that is well-known throughout the world, at the festival of technologies and innovation LOGIN.

'Recent events when more than 200,000 computers all over the world were infected with ransomware within a rather short period of time force the business community to reconsider whether enough attention is being devoted to data and systems security. We see the fast transformation of cyberattacks, the increasing scope and harm, so we want to provide Lithuanian business with more preventive solutions,' says Kęstutis Šliužas, CEO of Telia Lietuva.

According to him, partnership with CyberGym will allow companies in the public and private sectors of Lithuania to prepare for potential cyberattacks not only in theory, but also in practice. 'In the risk prevention process, a good team that not only has theoretical knowledge, but also knows how to respond to a particular threat, a team that is capable of making proper decisions in real time and of working together is very important. Such skills are best acquired with practice, but until now there has been no training at the level ensured by CyberGym in Lithuania,' says CEO of Telia Lietuva.

CyberGym specialises in cyber security training and exercises. The main clients of the company are public or private undertakings in the financial, energy, production and other sectors. Training is adjusted to the particular needs of a company and real situations are recreated during training, i.e. actual hackers are at work and real hacking attacks on systems are simulated.

It is planned that the first training session will take place as early as in June.
