Telus Corp.'s chief executive had added to the shares he owns in the Canadian telecommunications company, buying 150,400 shares in a move Telus said demonstrates his confidence in the strategy and global growth profile.

CEO and President Darren Entwistle, who for six consecutive years through 2015 took his salary in shares, now holds a total of 556,904 Telus shares.

Telus added 301,000 customers in the final three months of last year, and reported a 3.8% rise in revenue for the quarter.
