Tenaris welcomes the prime minister of Romania for a tour and update of the company's operations in the country.

Prime Minister Florin Cîțu, accompanied by the Minister of Internal Affairs Lucian Bode and the President of Sălaj County Council, Dinu Iancu Sălăjanu, visited Tenaris's seamless pipe mill in Zalău, Romania on June 11.

The dignitaries toured the automotive components center and had the opportunity to see the production line dedicated to manufacturing solutions for the sector, equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and complying with high health, safety, environment, and quality standards.

The Tenaris team at the Silcotub mill, led by Mihaela Popescu, Tenaris President for Romania, presented the company's evolution in the country since 2004. Tenaris has developed new products and integrated services, as well as achieved vertical integration -starting with scrap metal to the manufacture of complex tubular products-, an example of circular economy, through investments of more than $500 million USD.

The team also shared Tenaris's objective to reduce its CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030. Tenaris uses electric arc furnace for its steelmaking technology in Călărași, Romania, and at several other sites around the world, which utilizes a lower carbon footprint through the use of recycled scrap. Tenaris also has a growing portfolio of solutions for the energy transition such as tubular goods for carbon capture utilization and storage, hydrogen storage and transportation and renewable sources.

'We are honored by the Prime Minister's visit, interest and support he has shown for the industry. We look forward to our continued collaboration and are confident that together, we will find the right solutions to meet the challenges we face in both the European and global markets,' said Popescu.
