Tenaris is investing to establish a service base in Soyo, Angola, and will grow its local team to better serve for customers in the region.

The company has been present in Angola for many years with a small team. With new contracts being awarded to Tenaris, the company is investing to grow its footprint.

Tenaris will increase its employee base to cover commercial, yard and field services roles, and establish a service center in Soyo to provide technical, logistics and field support, as well as incorporate a Dopeless technology unit to its scope of services. This offer will allow the company to provide customers with full, local capabilities for threading TenarisHydril premium connections, accessories, and repairs.

Juan Juanicotena, Tenaris commercial senior director, says a key factor of Tenaris's offer in the region has been its local content strategy, in partnership with Angola's Local Content Regulations, which has been positively received.

He also highlights the growth opportunity the investment will bring to Tenaris's team in Africa with the appointment of David Nwakaji, commercial sales manager in Nigeria, to the position of country manager for Angola.

'With this move, we are reinforcing our strength in Angola. We will now be better positioned to support the targeted oil and gas production increase in the sub-Saharan Africa region, in a moment in which global demand for gas continues to rise and importing countries suffer supply shortages and a surge in prices,' said Juanicotena.
