Tencent Holdings Ltd. is expanding its business presence in Singapore as it eyes further inroads in Southeast Asia and beyond.

The Chinese social-media and gaming giant will open a new office in the city-state, its fourth office in the region in addition to Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, a Tencent spokesperson said Tuesday.

"The Singapore office will also enable us to capture potential from the rapid pace of digitization and meet the demand for internet-based services and solutions in Singapore," the spokesperson said.

The company said it is hiring for various positions to meet business and operational requirements, with openings available in technology, business development and operations.
