Teradyne, Inc. announced earnings results for the second quarter ended July 4, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was USD 1,085.728 million compared to USD 838.661 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 388.872 million compared to USD 217.949 million a year ago. Net income was USD 328.319 million compared to USD 188.908 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.98 compared to USD 1.14 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.76 compared to USD 1.05 a year ago. For the half year, sales was USD 1,867.334 million compared to USD 1,543.016 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 621.885 million compared to USD 424.667 million a year ago. Net income was USD 533.831 million compared to USD 365.098 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 3.21 compared to USD 2.2 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 2.85 compared to USD 2.02 a year ago.
Teradyne, Inc. specializes in the development, manufacturing and marketing of automatic test equipments. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- semiconductor tester (72.4%);
- system testing solutions (13.1%): testers of integrated circuit, digital network cards, electronic modules, military and aerospace instruments, car diagnostic systems, etc.;
- industrial automation solutions (9%);
- wireless test solutions (5.5%): for mobiles devices and equipments manufacturers (smart phones, tablets, laptops, etc.).
