Rome, 28 September 2021 - Terna is "Italy's Best Employer 2022" in the energy sector: the group led by Stefano Donnarumma has been recognised as the best employer, according to the survey carried out by Statista, the international research company. Director of the energy transition and an example of Italian excellence, with approximately 5,000 professionals engaged daily in the security of the national electricity system, Terna leads the ranking of the most virtuous companies in Italy with a score of 8.62 and is "strongly recommended" to friends, acquaintances and family members by their employees and other workers in the energy sector.

"People are Terna's most important asset, the main enabler of the Driving Energy 2021-2025 Business Plan. Our know-how and experience contribute to growing the value of the company. For Terna it is essential to have the most talented people on our team and for this reason the group has identified innovative work solutions. Our new project, NexTerna, fits into this context, which aims to develop an innovative leadership model that is in tune with the new ways of working, to find a creative way to integrate inclusion and sustainability with our distinctive style and character. With the active and conscious involvement of our people, we propose new ways of working focused on the digitisation of processes and tools in order to guarantee efficiency, productivity, logistical benefits and work/life balance" said Emilia Rio, Human Resources and Organisation Manager.

To reach energy transition goals, Terna foresees a 10% increase in its workforce as early as the first three years of the Business Plan. In parallel to the recruitment campaign launched at the beginning of the year, the company has planned for 100 new hires in the last quarter of 2021 and initiated several different collaborations with STEM departments (mathematics, physics, engineering, chemistry) from the most prestigious Italian universities. The company that manages Italy's electricity grid has also launched a series of innovative projects on the agile work with the goal of offering its personnel a new work model that is characterised by a hybrid approach to working, that allows people to work remotely, but within flexible and digitised hubs. Terna has opened two Smart Hub- Working spaces for its employees in Rome. An efficient management of the work experience, which promotes a structured and organised collaboration between resources based on human-centric logic and which, also thanks to technology, guarantees the best conditions for comfort and productivity. Also with regard to agile work, by virtue of an agreement signed with the trade unions, from the beginning of 2022 Terna's employees will be able to continue working remotely 1 or 2 days a week.

There are also several initiatives to support the birth rate and to support female employment and young parents who need a better work/life balance. The most recent is the inauguration of 'MiniWatt': the new company nursery, built in Rome at Terna's headquarters, up to 23 children aged 6 to 36

months. An initiative that embraces the values of the Group and represents a further step forward towards achieving new and ambitious sustainability objectives, a strategic driver of Terna's business.

The survey carried out by the international research company, Statista, involved more than 3 thousand companies and over 20,000 workers contacted, through an online survey, to analyse the quality of their employer through company image, sustainability, equipment and conditions, relationships with colleagues and superiors, work/life balance, development and prospects, remuneration. The result of the evaluations provided by employees led to the assigning of scores that made up the ranking of the 400 best place to work in Italy.
