TERNA: AUTHORIZATION PROCESS LAUNCHED FOR WORKS ON THE

132 kV GRID IN THE PROVINCE OF CUNEO

A new electrical substation is planned, as well as an underground cable connection that is

more than 6 km long

Today, Terna published the list of parcels of land involved in the works in the

municipalities of Vinadio, Aisone and Demonte

Rome, 9 April 2021 - Terna has published the notice containing the list of the parcels of land potentially involved in the works, located in the municipalities of Vinadio, Aisone and Demonte, following the launch on 18 March of the authorisation procedure by the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition for the works on the 132 kV grid in the Stura valley in the province of Cuneo. Citizens, and in particular the owners of the land involved, are able to view the project in electronic format at the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the municipalities involved. It is possible to forward written comments and observations to the aforementioned Ministry together with a copy for information purposes to Terna, within 30 days of publication of the notice.

The project, in which Terna will invest € 27 million, includes the construction of a new 132 kV electrical substation and related connections in an area outside the town of Vinadio, in Goletta, and a new underground cable connection of over 6 km, mostly laid along the provincial road SP337, which will connect the future substation with the current Demonte primary cabin. The final project and choices for the location of the new infrastructures are the result of Terna's productive dialogue with local administrations aimed at ensuring that the projects are shared and sustainable.

The works will ensure a more efficient energy transmission service thanks to an increase in the meshing of the 132 kV electricity grid and will also encourage greater continuity in feeding energy produced by the hydroelectric plants in the area into the grid.

The project forms part of the works included in Terna's Strategic Plan for Piedmont, where the company plans to invest € 370 million over the next five years to develop and modernise the regional electricity grid.
