The Finnish Transport Workers' Union has joined other Nordic unions in striking against Tesla, it said Thursday.

Starting Dec. 20, Finnish dockworkers at the AKT union will begin a blockade of Tesla vehicles at all ports in the country, meaning no Tesla cars or components destined for Swedish markets will be loaded by dockers.

The move by AKT comes after unions in Denmark and Norway announced similar actions in a show of support for mechanics at Sweden's IF Metall union, who have been striking since October for the U.S. automaker to sign a collective bargaining agreement.

"It is a crucial part of the Nordic labor market model that we have collective agreements and unions support each other," AKT president Ismo Kokko said in a statement.

Several other Swedish unions have also joined the industrial action, with dockworkers at all Swedish ports refusing to offload vehicles, electricians refusing to work on Tesla workshops or charging stations and postal workers refusing to deliver anything to Tesla's workplaces.
