SET allows trading on POST's and THAI's securities during April 16 - May 17, 2021 by purchasing with Cash Balance account

As the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announces that the securities of Bangkok Post Public Company Limited (POST) and Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) are subject to possible delisting (NC Stage1), as the financial statements of both companies for the year ended 2020 show that the equity are negative, since March 8, 2021 and posts NC (Non-Compliance) sign and SP (Suspension) sign on securities of POST and THAI. Later, the company informed the business rehabilitation plan that beneficial to the company and shareholders as follows;

  • THAI filed a petition to resolve the possible ground for delisting such as a capital increase, debt restructuring and a business transformation plan.
  • POST is in the process of planning to resolve the grounds for delisting, including capital increase, find new business opportunities and restructuring the organization. Present, POST is in the process of considering appointing a financial advisor to assist in developing a business plan for rehabilitation which will be presented to the shareholders' meeting.

(Details as shown in THAI's and POST's news on March 26, 2021 and April 7, 2021 respectively) Therefore, SET will proceed as follows;

  1. SET will allow trading on POST's and THAI's securities during April 16, 2021 to May 17, 2021. The investors are required to purchase through cash balance account which means that the investors have to pay the full amount in cash prior to purchasing.
  2. NC sign will be posted during such trading period in order to alert the investors to be careful in trading securities.
  3. SET will specify the ceiling and floor prices of POST's and THAI's securities on the first trading day, which effective date is April 16, 2021 onwards, at 100% of their last trading price.(However, if there is no trading of such securities on April 16, 2021, the ceiling and floor prices limit criteria will be valid until trading of the securities occur). The ceiling and floor prices will be subsequently adjusted to normal criteria from the next business day.

After the end of such trading period, from May 18, 2021 onwards, SET will suspend trading on POST's and THAI's securities by posting SP sign until the companies are able to eliminate the ground for delisting and repossessing the qualifications to resume trading. If the companies are unable to rectify the causes within specified period, SET may consider delisting the companies' securities accordingly.

However, SET recommends the investors to carefully study POST's and THAI's information such as financial positions, operating results, type of auditor's report, major shareholders, board of directors, historical news as well as risks and other related factors.
