Thales Alenia said it has signed a contract valued at 263 million euros ($304.1 million) with OHB System AG for the development of key elements for the LISA mission.
The company said Tuesday that the contract with the Germany-based space and technology group is for the development of key elements for the European Space Agency's Laser Interferometer Space Antenna, or LISA, mission.
LISA will be the first space-based observatory dedicated to studying gravitational waves, it said.
Thales Alenia Space is a joint venture between French aerospace and defense company Thales and its Italian peer Leonardo.
