At the Paris Air Show, Thales announced that it has signed a contract to supply Albania with a Ground Master 400 alpha (GM400α) radar within 14 months as part of a program to modernize the country's air surveillance capabilities.
Renowned for its exceptional reliability, unmatched performance, and high level of mobility, the GM400 radar now plays a crucial role in ensuring air surveillance around the world, the defense electronics group said.
"With its fully digital architecture, it can detect air threats up to 515 km away, with superior low-altitude detection capabilities, including for low-speed drones," it added.
Thanks to the ramp-up of its industrial capabilities, Thales is able to deliver more than 30 Ground Master family air surveillance radars each year and reduce lead times to respond to operational emergencies.
