--The U.S. has offered the European Union a settlement in an international dispute over aircraft-manufacturing subsidies, Reuters reports, citing sources close to the matter.

--In the offer, made by U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, the U.S. would remove tariffs on wine, whiskey and other products if Airbus repays aid from European governments.

--The EU is unlikely to support Mr. Lighthizer's proposal, Reuters reports.
