Sept 22 (Reuters) - Boeing Co is poised to settle a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation about allegedly misleading statements the planemaker and its previous chief Dennis Muilenburg made about its 737 MAX jets, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

The report, citing people familiar with the matter, said that financial terms of the civil settlement could not be learned, but added that the deal could be announced as soon as this week. (https://on.wsj.com/3Uymrgk)

Boeing, which declined to comment on the matter, last week said that there was still a chance U.S. regulators could approve the 737 MAX 10 before the end of the year. (Reporting by Nathan Gomes in Bengaluru; Editing by Maju Samuel)
