Charles Schwab Corp. on Tuesday said it named Rick Wurster as president, effective Friday.

The Westlake, Texas financial-services provider said Mr. Wurster, who joined in 2016 and is currently a managing director and head of Schwab Asset Management, would report to Walt Bettinger, who remains chief executive.

Charles Schwab said Mr. Wurster's organization would now include investor services, adviser services, workplace financial services and international services, in addition to Schwab Asset Management.
