The Co-operative Bank of Kenya and Simba Corporation have entered into a partnership deal under which their customers will now be able to purchase commercial vehicles at affordable rates and access working capital, The Star has reported online. The partnership intends to enable businesses during the ongoing Covid-19 crisis that has impacted them immensely. Under the partnership agreement, customers will get asset finance facilities from Co-op Bank, which will enable them to acquire Fuso trucks from Simba Corporation, wherein the bank will fund up to 95% of the value of the truck and top it up with KES 500,000 working capital. Additionally, the customers will benefit from a two-month repayment holiday, giving them an opportunity to run their businesses without the pressure of repayments. The loan is repayable over a period of up to five years. The partnership is expected to benefit individuals, SMEs, and large commercial businesses, the report said.
