Coca-Cola announced on Thursday that it had promoted Henrique Braun, currently in charge of its international development, to Chief Operating Officer (COO).

With this promotion, the executive - who until now has been responsible for Latin America, Japan, South Korea, Asia, China, Africa, India and the Middle East - will see his duties extended to North America and Europe.

He will report to the soda manufacturer's current CEO, James Quincey.

Aged 56, Braun joined Coca-Cola's head office in 1996.
