Coca-Cola: a departure from the Board of Directors

Coca-Cola announced on Monday that Helene Gayle, one of the members of its Board of Directors, had informed the company of her decision to step down.
Gayle, who had been on the Board since 2013, was a member of the soda manufacturer's Nominations and Compensation Committee, as well as the Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee.
She had recently resigned from her position as President of Spelman College, an Atlanta-based fine arts learning institute.
Prior to this, Helene Gayle was the Executive Director of the McKinsey Social Initiative, an NGO created by the consulting firm McKinsey, between 2015 and 2017.
She began her career at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where her responsibilities included HIV and STD prevention activities.
