We remain deeply saddened by the murder of George Floyd. The trial of Derek Chauvin has been upsetting and serves as an example of the structural racism and injustices that Black Americans and other people of color continue to face every day. For many of us, especially our Black colleagues, family and friends, this verdict raises strong emotions, but at its core, accountability for one's actions was reinforced through our justice system. We are committed to standing together as we move forward.

At The Hartford, we believe that hateful behaviors and racism have no place in our society. It is vital we understand and support the views and voices of the Black community, and at the same time continue the dialogue with colleagues, friends, family members, and communities across the country as to how we move this important conversation forward. We are unwavering in our commitment to stand up, take action and advocate for racial and social justice, and the elimination of the racial disparities in our country.
