Hong Kong and China Gas : Alert on suspected scam emails

The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) would like to remind its customers and the wider public to guard against suspected scam emails from unknown senders.

Written in English and purportedly issued by Towngas, the fraudulent emails state that service to the recipients has been suspended due to payment issues.

Upon investigation, the alleged claim and the links contained in the emails have been found to be false. Towngas would like to confirm that the Company has not issued such emails to its customers. The matter has been reported to the police and appropriate actions in relation thereto are currently being taken. Towngas would like to call on its customers and the wider public to be on the alert.

They are advised not to click on any attachment or link contained in any email or message that appears suspicious. The Company wishes to stress that it has no relationship or connection, direct or indirect, with the aforementioned emails or their senders.
