After a phenomenal run covering Donald Trump from his escalator ride in Trump Tower through his second impeachment, Maggie Haberman will bring her relentless energy, news-breaking skills and talent for getting behind the scenes to two new assignments. Together they will give her the unique ability to range across government and politics at all levels.

First, Maggie will join the investigative/enterprise team in the Washington bureau, where she'll bring her wide knowledge of Democrats as well as Republicans to help land stories and projects about the new administration. Even as she helped drive news coverage about the White House over the past four years, Maggie was a crucial reporter on the investigative team that won a Pulitzer Prize in 2018 for reporting on Donald Trump's advisers and their connection to Russia.

Second, Maggie will continue to work with the Politics desk to track the post-Trump landscape and the early rumblings of the 2022 midterms and the 2024 presidential campaign. She'll bring her expertise in all things Trump to the task of covering the past, present and future of the 45th president.

Maggie, who joined The Times in 2015, previously worked at Politico, The New York Daily News and The New York Post.
