SCB mobilizes staff to help answer NHSO Hotline 1330 for people seeking advice about Covid-19 services and treatment

The Covid-19 situation that has seen thousands of new cases daily has prompted many people to seek support from the National Health Security Office's Hotline 1330, with the hotline receiving as many as 30,000 calls every day. The influx of phone calls has forced those seeking assistance to wait for a long time, while some never received answers despite another 3,000 lines having been added by the NHSO. To help alleviate this problem, Siam Commercial Bank has mobilized 100 inactive employees from bank branches which have been closed during the lockdown to support the NHSO by helping staff the 1330 Hotline. They will answer calls from 08:30-17:00 hrs. and deal with about 1,000 calls per day on average. Staff have been trained by the NHSO via an online system before taking up their duties. Phone calls will be diverted to the phone numbers of SCB staff working from home so that they can provide information on services and benefits related to Covid-19 treatment and advise callers on how to register for the home isolation system.

Dr. Jadej Thammatacharee, secretary-general of the National Health Security Office (NHSO), thanked SCB for this supportive effort because during the crisis government agencies may be unable to provide sufficient services to those affected in a timely manner. The cooperation will continue for some time, with SCB President Apiphan Charoenanusorn noting that SCB will evaluate the success of its collaborative effort with the NHSO team depending on the government's lockdown policy. As a private sector organization, SCB has been playing a role in taking good care of society by supporting a number of projects during the pandemic, such as cooperation with the Board of Trade of Thailand and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to set up a large vaccination center at the SCB Head Office, the construction of a 2,500-bed field hospital in Buriram province and a 1,000-bed hospital in Samut Sakhon province, cohort wards at Chulalongkorn Hospital, and supporting the Mor Prom call center, to name just a few of the bank's efforts.
