SCB joins forces with Siam Commercial Foundation and NECTEC in organizing "Tor Kla Vocational Project 2021" to promote vocational students' agricultural inventions

To promote the potential of vocational students and teachers in applying their vocational skills and knowledge of electronic and computer technology into community development, Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) has supported the Siam Commercial Foundation in its collaboration with the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) in organizing a "Tor Kla Vocational Training" project. To address the sustainability challenges lying ahead for the agricultural sector, the project aims to encourage vocational students to create practical tools to increase agricultural productivity, enabling Thai farmers to take advantage of modern technology and use it for real farming. In readying students to fully embrace their new knowledge and improve their performance, a workshop was organized for the 15 selected teams with grants to support their work. The event received the honor of Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanich presiding over the workshop opening ceremony and giving advice to 76 participants from 16 vocational institutions across the nation, along with First Executive Vice President & Head of the SCB Academy at Siam Commercial Bank Worawat Suvagondha , NECTEC Executive Director Dr. Chai Wutiwiwatchai, Siam Commercial Bank Foundation Manager Piyaporn Manthachitra , Vocational Education Management Specialist Dr. Rojana Chantrakul, and NECTEC Deputy Executive Director Dr. Kalaya Udomvitid participating at the event held at the Sirindhorn Science Home, NSTDA Thailand Science Park in Pathum Thani Province

Vocational students participating in learning activities will be able to enhance their skills using advice offered by speakers and experts, such as work development and project management, the direction of modern agricultural systems, the use of precision agricultural tools, design thinking workshops, and more. Participants also received sets of NECTEC's Handy Sense for smart farming and will be ready to adopt knowledge and skills from the training to develop their skills and produce results. These students will come back to present their work at the next training forum in March 2022.
