On a per-share basis, the Toronto-based company said it had a loss of 9 cents.

The investment company posted revenue of $4.5 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $8.5 million, or 6 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $9.2 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit $1.30. A year ago, they were trading at $1.90.
