The York Water Company Executes Agreement to Acquire Water and Wastewater

Systems in Franklin County

York, Pennsylvania, May 10, 2021:The York Water Company(NASDAQ:YORW) President and CEO JT Hand today announced the Company's Agreement to acquire the water and wastewater systems jointly owned by the Letterkenny Industrial Development Authority (LIDA) and Franklin County General Authority (FCGA) in Franklin County, Pennsylvania.

Upon required regulatory approvals and settlement, projected for late 2021, this will be York Water's first water system and second wastewater system in Franklin County. York Water acquired the wastewater assets of the Letterkenny Township Municipal Authority in 2020. President Hand acknowledged the excitement surrounding this acquisition.

"We are excited to expand our footprint in Franklin County for the second time in the last year, providing our high-quality water and wastewater services to the Letterkenny Army Depot, the Cumberland Valley Business Park and the customers of the FCGA. We're anxious to work with the garrison and tenants of the Letterkenny Army Depot and to provide the remarkable utility experience that our customers have grown to expect and upon which they rely."

LIDA and FCGA currently serve approximately 165 metered water customers and 135 metered wastewater customers with the majority of those connections supporting military and logistics tenants of the Depot. The acquisition includes all of the water and wastewater production and treatment assets, water distribution and wastewater collection assets and the Roxbury Reservoir. LIDA Executive Director Kip Feldman acknowledged the collaborative relationship formed between York Water and LIDA that has led up to this agreement.

"York Water has a remarkable reputation when it comes to water and wastewater services in the region. It was very important to us that we found a responsible, responsive, and dedicated buyer of our water and wastewater assets who understood and shared our vision and the tremendous potential for investment in our Keystone Opportunity Zone with competently managed, resourced, and planned water and wastewater utilities. We have been so pleased with the process that secured this Agreement and we look forward to working closely with York Water to get to closing by the end of the year. This sale will enable LIDA to focus on our core mission, which is the industrial park, and securing economic and employment opportunities for Franklin County."
