In order to help customers raise their vigilance when transacting with the bank, especially online transactions (related to credit cards and accounts) and protect personal information and assets, TPBank synthesizes various forms of payment. Recently, a new scam has taken place and advises customers to trade safely.

TPBank especially warns customers not to perform prohibited acts such as buying, selling, renting, leasing, lending, opening payment accounts, bank cards or card information, etc. avoid creating conditions for fraudsters to take advantage of information, accounts and bank cards for illegal transaction purposes such as football betting at the time of the current World Cup 2022.

1. Warning: common scams

Method 1: spoof the bank SMS number

Fraudsters send fake bank messages with information about the service, asking customers to access the fake link (link is not TPBank, usually a website link that is similar to easily confused). ).

Please note:

- TPBank ABSOLUTELY DOESN'T send any messages with links to ask customers to provide/enter Internet Banking username and password, OTP authentication code, etc.

- The fake TPBank Brandname messages are often sent with strange links (links) that do not lead to the Bank's official addresses. Customers absolutely DO NOT access these links to avoid loss of account information and property damage

- Customers carefully CHECK the SMS received by TPBank not only with 3 steps:

  • Step 1: Copy the message BrandName is suspected to be fake
  • Step 2: Send the copied message to the operator's number to check: 9548 (Viettel network); 9241 (Mobifone network) or 1551 (Vinaphone network)
  • Step 3: See the carrier's response

#Tip: Do not access strange links (links) sent from SMS. Check SMS Brandname and in any case, absolutely do not provide internet banking password, OTP authentication code and other personal information to anyone.

Technique 2: Impersonate a bank to lend money online

Fraudsters impersonate TPBank on digital platforms (such as Facebook, Instagram, Zalo, Email, ...) by using names, logos, avatars, fake authentication factors (green/orange ticks, etc.) ...) similar to TPBank or a phone number with the prefix 1900 **** (like a switchboard) to confuse customers.

From these fake MXH accounts and call centers, the crooks perform the following steps:

• Send messages/calls to invite customers to borrow money with attractive interest rates.

• Request customers to provide CCCD/ID card, household registration book, account number/bank card number, etc. to make loan application

• Require customers to pay application fees and loan advance fees

• Failure to disburse, appropriate money, block uncontactable numbers

Please note how to identify TPBank's official account/address:

• TPBank's WEBSITE is identified as follows: https://tpb.vn or https://*.tpb.vn/ and is securely marked with a padlock next to it. In which (*) only includes characters from a to z, excluding other special characters

• TPBank's SOCIAL NETWORK ACCOUNTS are accounts with authentication signs:

  • Facebook: TPBank (with a green check on the right)
  • Zalo: TPBank (with orange check mark)
  • Tiktok: @tpbankofficial (with green tick)

• EMAIL from TPBank always ends with ***@tpb.com.vn

• Official switchboard and phone numbers that TPBank contacts with customers (hotline number 1900 6036/1900 585885, +84 2437 683 683)

#Tip: Access and read information at the official website with TPBank's authentication factor such as a padlock on the website link and a green/orange check mark on social media pages.
