We are seriously concerned about the alleged practice by Pastor Prophet Light Monyeki over the weekend, where members of his congregation were apparently provided with a solution of Rattex in water to consume.

We want to stress that Rattex is a poison developed to exterminate rats. The use of pesticides for purposes other than what they are intended is extremely dangerous. These products have been specifically created for the termination of pests and are strictly not for human consumption.

There are clear safety guidelines and instructions on packs on how to use these products in a responsible way so as not to cause danger to humans or pets.

We urge the public to refrain from using these products for any purpose other than intended. We encourage anyone who has consumed the product in any form to seek medical attention.
