TMC Life Sciences Berhad announced the appointment of two new Executive Directors and two Independent Non Executive Directors effective 25 January 2019 as part of a planned succession strategy to strengthen the core of its leadership team in Malaysia as it prepares for its next phase of rapid growth and development. As part of the changes, Ms. Wan Nadiah Binti Wan Abdullah Yaakob (Malaysian, 34) current Group Chief Corporate Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara, will be appointed as Executive Director of TMCLS. Ms. Wan Nadiah will also be promoted to Group Chief Executive Officer effective 1 February 2019 and will take over both positions from Mr. Roy Quek Hong Sheng, who has held the position of Executive Director since June 2015 and Group Chief Executive Officer since September 2015.

Mr. Quek is also the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Thomson Medical Group (TMG), the parent company of TMCLS. Mr. Quek's handing over the reins of TMCLS to Ms. Wan Nadiah is part of TMG's strategy to put in place strong local leadership in the countries it operates in. Ms. Wan Nadiah has been with TMCLS since June 2017.

Other changes include Mr. Freddie Heng Kim Chuan, Non-Independent Non-Executive Director and Dato' Dr. Tan Kee Kwong, Independent Non-Executive Director, stepping down effective 25 January 2019. Mr. Barry Kan Kheong Ng, current Non-Independent Non-Executive Director will be appointed as Executive Director effective 1 February 2019. Mr. Kan (Malaysian, 63), was appointed to the Board on 2 June 2015 and has over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and spearheaded the growth of Wearnes Automotive Prestige Division, acquiring leading brands such as Bugatti, Maclaren and Land Rover.

He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Fastrack Iskandar Sdn Bhd. In addition, two new Independent Non-Executive Directors will be appointed to the Board effective 25 January 2019, Dato' Sri Mohd Mokhtar Bin Hj Mohd Shariff (Malaysian, 62) and Dr. George Lee Lam (Hong Kong, 60). Dato' Sri Mohd Mokhtar previously served for over 40 years with the Royal Malaysian Police before retiring as Director of Special Branch in May 2018.

Dr. George Lam is the Chairman of the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited and Non-Executive Chairman and Chief Advisor to Macquarie Bank's Infrastructure and Real Assets business in the Hong Kong and ASEAN region. He is a Member of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Committee on Innovation, Technology and Re-Industrialization, the Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health, the Council on Professional Conduct in Education (CPC), and the Court of the City University of Hong Kong. Currently, Dr. Lam serves as the Vice Chairman of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Business Advisory Council and Chairman of its Task Force on Banking and Finance.
