Toray Industries, Inc.
From June 21 to 25, 2021, the International Human Resources Dept. held the 2021 TTP for section managers of Toray Group companies outside Japan, and 18 trainees, mainly section managers, from 12 companies in seven countries participated in it. The program was held online for the first time due to the restrictions on travel caused by COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to non-face-to-face communication in a foreign language (English), there were issues such as the time difference and the network environment, but it became a fulfilling training session as we made adjustments to the curriculum and the number of days, carried out prior learning, and made thorough preparations.
The participants deepened their understanding of Toray through sessions on Toray Philosophy, Long-Term Corporate Vision, TORAY VISION 2030, Medium-Term Management Program, Project AP-G 2022 as well as CSR, ethics and compliance, and safety, accident prevention, environmental and health management taught by lecturers from Toray. Furthermore, through sessions on intercultural communication and improvement of management skills by external lecturers, they had active discussions on how an ideal manager should be in the increasingly globalized Toray Group, reflected on themselves, and improved motivation.
