Toray Group Companies in Mexico
On October 4, 2021, four Toray Group companies in Mexico located in the suburbs of Guadalajara in the state of Jalisco, namely Toray Advanced Textile Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (TAMX), Toray Resin Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (TRMX), Zoltek de Mexico S.A. de C.V. (ZMX), and Toray International de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (TIMX), donated funds to the Japanese School of Guadalajara again this year.
Representing Kiyoshi Akazawa, Toray Industries, Inc.'s Chief Representative for Mexico, and on behalf of the four companies, Atsunobu Seki, sales and marketing director of TRMX, who also serves on the steering committee of the school, made the donation to Mr. Daisuke Shirakura, the principal, and Mr. Junji Nakamura, the steering committee chairman of the school.
The Japanese School of Guadalajara is a semi full-time school in the second largest city in Mexico, and provides education in accordance with the Japanese curriculum to the children in the region. The number of students has been decreasing due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the number of children of Japanese staff at Toray Group of companies in Mexico enrolled at the school is also currently zero, but we will contribute to the local community by providing support to the school operations.
