TOKYO-Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) and Toshiba Digital Solutions Corporation (hereinafter 'TDSL') have announced that Taro Shimada, will take the reins at TDSL on April 1, succeeding Hironobu Nishikori as the company's President and CEO.

Shimada joined Toshiba Group in October 2018, from a distinguished career in industry, most notably with Germany's Siemens. He is currently a Corporate Vice President and Chief Digital Officer of Toshiba, charged with advancing the Group's digital transformation, and as Group Executive and General Manager of the Cyber-Physical System Promotion Division has a leading role in positioning Toshiba as one of the world's leading cyber-physical-systems (CPS) technology companies.

TDSL is a core company in the Group's digital solutions business, and delivers system integration and digital service solutions that support companies in all areas of business in accelerating their digital transformation. As Toshiba promotes its transformational 'Toshiba Next Plan,' TDSL is expected to generate innovations that stimulate renewed growth.

On March 31, Hironobu Nishikori will resign as the President and CEO of TDSL, and as a Corporate Executive Vice President of Toshiba. On April 1, he will join Toshiba TEC Corporation as an Advisor; he will be nominated for the posts of President and CEO of the company at the ordinary general meeting of shareholders scheduled for June 2020.
