Toshiba Corporation (Tokyo:6502) will host its first Energy Symposium in the United States, celebrating the company’s involvement in and commitment to delivering powerful energy solutions.

“Powerful Solutions for a Better World” will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Knight Conference Center at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. The symposium will feature special guest speaker, Dr. Howard Gruenspecht, Deputy Administrator, U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) and include a general session, a networking lunch and a technology showcase. Master of ceremonies will be McKie Campbell, Managing Director, Blue Water Strategies, a government consulting firm focused on energy, environment and natural resource issues.

“As the global population nears eight billion and urban growth continues, Toshiba’s goal is to help build communities that put people first and ensure a safe and stable energy supply,” said Mr. Tanaka. “At this symposium, we will discuss new and powerful solutions to our existing and future energy challenges.”

Among Toshiba’s solutions in the energy sector are high efficiency nuclear, thermal and renewable power generation that reduce emissions. The company also produces state-of-the-art transmission and distribution systems and advanced smart metering and energy management solutions for utilities.
