PARIS, July 7 (Reuters) - Companies which have benefited from rising energy prices, such as shipping firm CMA CGM and TotalEnergies, could still do more to help French people cope with rising inflation, said the country's finance minister Bruno Le Maire.

Le Maire said even though TotalEnergies and CMA CGM last month had respectively offered fuel price discounts and lowered container shipping rates, they could nevertheless make further concessions.

"We can still do better," said Le Maire on Thursday. (Reporting by Sudip Kar-Gupta Editing by Peter Graff)
