Gautam Adani, founder of Indian conglomerate Adani, said on Saturday that his group was committed to the highest international standards.

This was his first public reaction to the corruption charges brought against him by the US authorities.

"Less than two weeks ago, we were confronted with a set of allegations from the United States about Adani Green Energy's compliance with the rules. This is not the first time we have faced such challenges," said Gautam Adani in a speech delivered in Jaipur, northern India.

"What I can tell you is that every attack makes us stronger, and every obstacle turns into a springboard to an even more resilient Adani Group," he added.

"In today's world, negativity spreads faster than facts, and while we are engaged in legal proceedings, I want to confirm to you our absolute commitment to compliance with international-level rules," he continued, without providing any further details.
