Saft announces that it will supply MDA Space Ltd with more than 250 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries to power the MDA Aurora product range, which supports the transition from analog to digital satellite technology.

This order is for batteries using the latest generation of VL10ES Li-ion cells, developed with the support of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Centre National Français d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES)," says the TotalEnergies subsidiary.

"This is the largest contract in Saft's history in the aerospace industry. Some 380 satellites are currently in orbit with space-proven Saft batteries on board', it continues.
