Scholarship Presentation Ceremony Held in Malaysia

Osaka, Japan -23 January, 2015 - Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. (Takuji Yamamoto, president) announces that Malaysian tire manufacturing and sales subsidiary Toyo Tyre Malaysia Sdn Bhd (TTM; Kanji Kasai, president) held its second annual presentation ceremony for its scholarship program on January 9.

Based on the company's CSR policy, as part of its social contribution activities TTM established a scholarship program in 2014 for highly motivated students who will be essential for economic growth in Perak, Malaysia, where TTM is located, in order to support the development of human resources in Malaysia who will lead the next generation.

The scholarship program will offer two types of scholarships: an "Undergraduate Scholarship Program" that supports high-achieving college students; and a "Student Education Assistance Program" that will provide assistance to young children attending elementary school.

At the presentation ceremony, TTM president Kasai presented scholarships to four university students and 30 young children while encouraging the young scholars to "dedicate themselves to their studies in order to develop into individuals who will lead the future of Malaysia."

The Toyo Tires Group will continue its efforts to contribute to local communities as a good corporate citizen.
