Toyota announces that it has submitted a report to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) aimed at preventing the certification problems recently encountered by the automaker.

Toyota acknowledged that management was not sufficiently involved in certification operations, and that there were shortcomings in data management and procedures.

Toyota intends to review its certification systems and strengthen collaboration between management and staff.

In the medium to long term, Toyota will incorporate continuous improvements into its certification processes, and report progress to MLIT on a quarterly basis.
