SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) _ TPI Composites Inc. (TPIC) on Wednesday reported a loss of $5.5 million in its second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Scottsdale, Arizona-based company said it had a loss of 48 cents.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 30 cents per share.

The maker of composite wind blades posted revenue of $452.4 million in the period, surpassing Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $434.3 million.
