In addition to the hot topics, Cyber Security Nordic 2022 held May 12th – 13th presented discussions on cyber diplomacy and cyber threats considering the current world situation. Networking and happy encounters fuelled the programme that filled the big conference room even on late Friday afternoon.

Cyber Security Nordic 2022 featured a record 41 exhibitors and was attended by nearly 1,455 cyber professionals and decision-makers from the private and public sectors. The event was also actively attended online.

“In the wake of joining Nato and promoting the security of digital Europe, this year the event succeeded in bringing in more experts from different fields to discuss cybersecurity, as it has become clear that cybersecurity is not just a technical issue”, says Peter Sund, CEO Finnish Information Security Cluster (FISC).

Much has been unravelled in the discussions between experts about the threat posed by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to Finland, which is now starting membership process to NATO, says Kimmo Rousku, Senior Specialist at the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.

We are grateful that the new date chosen with operators in the industry suited the customers and that, in the end, the timing was also perfect from the international cyber policy point of view, says Marcus Bergström, Business Manager at Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.

One of the event’s best-known speakers, Rik Ferguson, Vice President of Security Research, Trend Micro, filled the main conference room of the event to the last chair even on Friday afternoon with his Keynote speech “Project 2030; Scenarios for the Future of Cybercrime”.

Lena Clefberg, Marketing Manager at Trend Micro, is delighted with the encounters and interactive sales leads received after a three year’s pause. “Two days full of joy, ideas and interaction that cannot be created in Teams meetings”.

Trend Micro is one of the global pioneers in cybersecurity and one of Cyber Security Nordic’s strategic partners. In three decades, the company has grown into the world’s largest independent producer of security solutions.

In connection with the event, Nixu Corporation, a Finnish provider of information security, hosted a press visit to its so-called situation room, which showed that cyber security has begun to interest media in a completely new way. “The event has provided us with visibility and excellent networking opportunities,” says Jan Mickos, SVP, Managed Services, Nixu Corporation.

“We are grateful that the new date chosen with our partners in the industry was suitable for the customers and that, in the end, the timing was so topical from the point of the international cyber policy situation”, says Marcus Bergström, Business Manager of the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.
