A MESSAGE FROM THE CEO
2020/2021 is destined to be remembered as a crucial time in history.
While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the world today, technologies like 5G and the internet of things (IoT) are continuing to define the world of tomorrow. The pandemic has redefined the distance between people, with various national safety policies making "preemptive measures" a popular phrase. Looking forward and anticipating technological and societal shifts have been the key to innovation and success since the establishment of Trend Micro, with a consistent quest to remain one step ahead of threats, while upholding our vision: Making the world safe for exchanging digital information.
Preemptive measures in business operations
As organizations face an increasingly complex and connected world, it is clear that the ability to address more challenges with a smaller number of efficient solutions is an important strategy for defending against threats. As an experienced security provider that addresses multiple challenges, we believe that we have a powerful and unique ability to help customers with a unified cybersecurity platform. With best-of-breed technology combined with visibility, detection, and response across the enterprise, we are focused on providing customers with the ability to address the challenges of today and tomorrow from a single, trusted security partner. This includes providing a clear, easy path
for organizations to move from a single product customer to consuming new powerful capabilities from a platform that will help to lower risk and increase resilience for the organization.
Preemptive measures in technology: Anticipating the potential threats from 5G and IoT
In 2020, we blocked nearly 63 billion threats across cloud, email, web, and networks for our customers worldwide. Technologies like 5G and IoT are rapidly advancing, causing information, communication, and operational (OT) technologies to become highly integrated. This has made cybersecurity more difficult, both in predicting the threats as well as protecting against them. However, with the growing increase of IoT devices, we predict that the volume and severity of threats will evolve to introduce even more risk in the future. From an information security perspective, any connection to the internet is subject to the risk of hackers focusing on it, regardless if it is an electric car, smart factory, or consumer IoT device. But as a part of our commitment to always look forward and anticipate technology shifts, Trend Micro is prepared with a unified cybersecurity platform that includes protection for cloud, email, endpoint, network, as well as detection and response capabilities across all layers. In addition, we provide
security for to IoT, OT, and 5G campus networks. And with a focus on enabling organizations to remain resilient in the face of increasingly complex threats, our cybersecurity platform includes security technologies in support of Zero Trust strategies.
Preemptive measures in HR management: A global culture of diversity, fairness, and inclusion
We know that one of the most important keys to our success is our culture. Understanding, respecting, and valuing every employee is one of Trend Micro's unwavering business principles. Our passionate and resourceful team has been recognized as leaders by customers and industry experts. This includes our induction into 40 Under 40 2021 by PRSA Dallas, being named one of the 2021 Global Top 100 Leaders in Information Security by InfoSec, and Forbes Israel's 30 Under 30 recognition. With nearly 7,000 employees worldwide, we are committed to providing support for their professional growth and personal wellbeing so that they can be at their most effective at helping our customers be more resilient.
The pandemic has taught the world a valuable lesson: Don't assume that the enemy won't attack during a time of peril.
In response to this, our value to our customers is enabling them to be resilient-to prepare for, withstand, and rapidly recover from threats. And as a global corporate citizen who takes social responsibility very seriously, Trend Micro will continue to do what we do best: Making the world safe for exchanging digital information.
