The Truist Foundation, established by Truist Financial Corp. has awarded Tampa Bay Wave Inc., a nonprofit that supports the growth of technology companies, with a $30,000 grant. The nonprofit will use the money to support startups owned by underrepresented populations, according to a press release.

Tampa Bay Wave will also use the funds to offer economic subsidies for companies to get access to early-stage resources through its programs.

"Tampa Bay Wave is extremely grateful to be a recipient of such an important grant from Truist Foundation," Linda Olson, CEO, Tampa Bay Wave, said in the release. "Providing underrepresented entrepreneurs with the resources they need to realize their entrepreneurial dreams will go a long way toward removing barriers in our ecosystem, fostering a more level playing field and driving long-term economic vitality in our region."
