Dertour, a travel company belonging to the Rewe Group, has a new boss. The former Flix manager Christoph Debus will lead the Dertour Group from March 1, the Rewe subsidiary announced on Thursday. In addition, the 53-year-old will join the extended board of the Cologne-based Rewe Group as divisional director for tourism. He will report directly to Rewe CEO Lionel Souque. The latter emphasized that the appointment underlines the strategic importance of the tourism subsidiary for Rewe. Dertour had a good start to the new travel season. The TUI competitor had been able to increase the number of guests by 21 percent and sales by 33 percent in the tourism year 2023/24, which ended in October.
Debus is to train Flix's successor Benjamin Gubitz until the end of February. Gubitz joined the Munich-based start-up as a controller in 2015 and has also been responsible for investor relations there for almost a year. Debus, who joined Flix from the airline Condor in 2022, will remain with the company as a member of the supervisory board.
