Quebecor Content lands another hit with the acquisition of Designated Survivor from Les Films Séville

MONTREAL, November 1, 2016 - True to its mission of bringing the highest quality programming to its viewers, Quebecor Content announced today that it has acquired the French-language rights to the new hit drama series Designated Survivor, from Entertainment One (eOne), a subsidiary Les Films Séville. The series will be broadcast on Club Illico and on one of TVA Group's channel.

This new conspiracy drama series has already garnered widespread critical acclaim and popularity with viewers. Created by Executive Producer David Guggenheim and starring Emmy and Golden Globe winner Kiefer Sutherland, Designated Survivor follows Tom Kirkman, a lower-level cabinet member who is suddenly appointed President of the United States after a catastrophic attack during the State of the Union which kills everyone above him in the Presidential line of succession. As Kirkman struggles to keep the country and his own family from falling apart, he navigates the highly volatile political arena and searches for the perpetrators.

Designated Survivor co-stars Natascha McElhone, Maggie Q, Kal Penn, Adan Canto and Italia Ricci. The series is produced by The Mark Gordon Company and ABC Studios and distributed internationally by eOne, who also holds an equity stake in The Mark Gordon Company.
