Lau, who has experience both as a wealth planner and as head of a trust company, is expected to join the bank in the third quarter. She spent 20 years at HSBC Private Bank, where among other roles, she was the regional head of wealth planning Apac and head of trust company, Southeast Asia.

Lau spearheaded the ultra-high-net-worth desk at HSBC Singapore before joining IPG Howden as the CEO for Southeast Asia, overseeing its operations in the city-state, as well as in the Middle East.
