Ultra is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a multi-year contract for the continued supply of its leading Wing Ice Protection Control equipment to Boeing for the 787 Dreamliner.

Ultra will provide both the supply of the system's controller and the patented dynamic harnesses that convey power to the moving leading-edge slats.

Ultra is the leader for aerospace electro-thermal ice protection systems with solutions for wing and engine inlet ice protection. The function of the Wing Ice Protection System (WIPS) is to provide electrothermal ice protection to an area of the aircraft wing leading edge slats. The safety critical system heats both left (port) and right (starboard) wings simultaneously to achieve symmetrical wing leading edge ice protection, maintaining aerodynamic stability.

Mike Clayton, President of Ultra PCS, commented:

"This contract demonstrates Ultra's long term strategic and collaborative relationship with Boeing. It is alsoa fantastic achievement for the whole Ultra PCS team who have, despite the pandemic related challenges in the aerospace industry, demonstrated their unwavering commitment to deliver outstanding solutions to our customer's most complex problems."
