A Chinese investor is set to buy into A.S. Roma S.P.A. (BIT:ASR) via a capital increase at Neep Roma Holding S.P.A., reported Italian business daily Il Sole 24 Ore, citing rumours circulating the financial community. A possible agreement is imminent, Il Sole said, adding that A.S. Roma's two current
shareholders, banking group UniCredit S.p.A. (BUSE:UNICREDITSPA) and AS Roma SPV LLC, are negotiating the deal. Discussions of the deal have been held in New York at the office of A.S. Roma's President and Leader of the US alliance, James Pallotta, away from Italy in order to keep the talks as secret as possible, Il Sole said. The Chinese investor entering NEEP Roma Holding's capital will dilute the stakes of the current shareholders, mostly that of UniCredit, although little details are known at present, according to the rumours the daily reported. One of the rumoured Chinese investors is billionaire Wang Jianlin, the newspaper said.
