Unionbancal Corp : Union Bank of California Wins Four Awards for Excellence in Commercial and Business Banking

09/13/2007 | 12:21pm EST

Union Bank of California, N.A., announced today it has received four Excellence in Business Banking Awards from Greenwich Associates, a Connecticut-based strategic consulting and research firm for financial service providers worldwide.

Union Bank received two awards for overall customer satisfaction and two awards for cash management services, both at the regional and national levels. Of the 600 banks studied by Greenwich, 22 banks of various sizes won. Union Bank is one of 15 banks that won in two consecutive surveys. The bank was also recognized for Excellence in Business Banking by Greenwich Associates in 2005.

?Meeting the needs of our target markets is our top priority,? said JoAnn Bourne, executive vice president for Union Bank. ?Everything we do is designed around our customer ? from the cash management products we provide to our brand of outstanding customer service. It is very gratifying for the company to receive this recognition both for our products and for our customer service. These awards acknowledge that we are on the right track and encourage us to focus even more.?

The awards are based on the results of Greenwich Associates' biennial survey, which includes interviews with decision makers from more than 22,000 businesses with annual sales of $1 million to $10 million in 66 major markets.

Earlier this year, Union Bank was recognized for excellence in customer service by Phoenix-Hecht, one of the nation's leading providers of market research and education for the financial services industry. Phoenix-Hecht rated Union Bank's customer service as an A+. The rating was a result of PH's Middle Market Monitor, a bi-annual quality evaluation of treasury management products that banks provide to corporate clients.
